You have all been superstars. I will miss you all so much. Have an amazing summer - you all deserve it! Don't forget to come and find me in September and tell me how your summer was and how you have settled into Year 5. Mr Barton is lucky to have you!
See you soon,

P.S. Here are some pics of us having fun together today :)
Sports Day 2022!
What a fantastic morning! The children were amazing. Well done to you all. A special well done to our winners, Pine! Congratulations! Thank you to all of the grown ups who came to support.
Bournville Field Trip
We have had a successful morning in Bournville. Children have gained a good sense of the area and investigated the land use. The traffic survey was my highlight of the trip - I have never seen anyone so excited to see a car. It really made me smile. Seeing the historical buildings up close was very interesting. Next week, we will be completing some follow up work such as drawing a sketch map of the area.
Have a lovely weekend everyone! :)
Cadbury Treasure Hunt
In Geography, we have been learning about compass points. Today's task was to follow some directions in order to find some buried treasure on a map of Cadbury World (and its surrounding areas). Of course the treasure was some Cadbury's chocolate! Yum yum!
More fantastic homework!
Wow! Everyone is loving looking at all of these amazing chocolate creations. They are superb! Thank you for all of your hard work with all of your homework this half term. New homework grids will be on their way to you next week.
Jubilee Celebrations
We have had a lovely afternoon painting our commemorative plates to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee. They will be coming home tomorrow along with some other keepsakes. Wishing you all a wonderful week off. Enjoy the celebrations!
Magical Memories Made at the Think Tank
What a wonderful day at the Think Tank on Thursday. The children loved the 'Cauldron Chemistry' workshop and exploring all of the exhibitions. We hope you like these pictures and video of our day.
Maths This Week in 4W
Well done 4W - You have worked so hard on your decimal skills these last few weeks. Here you are rounding decimals! You really enjoyed rolling the dice to create your own numbers.
A Super Start to Summer
We have had a super start to the summer term. In English, we are studying Varjak Paw - a book about a ninja cat! In Science, we are studying 'sound'. In History and Geography, we are studying Bournville. Maths has been very interesting as we have been investigating decimals. Next week, we are moving onto money. Children are really coming on with their ukulele skills - I am hoping to share a new video with you all soon.
I would like to share this picture of a 4W member holding her chocolate bar invention. MMMMMmmmmmmmm. It looks absolutely scrumptious! An amazing start to the homework....I can't wait to see what other chocolate bar designs you all come up with.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Weston x
A fantastic final week!

Have a wonderful, restful Easter break everyone x
You Are Superstars!
Well done 4W. You have worked incredibly hard the last two weeks. You should be so proud of all of your achievements.
British Science Week
Children enjoyed planting sunflower seeds with Mrs Sheldrick as part of British Science Week. It is both an investigation and an competition to see which house can grow the tallest plant. Who do you think is winning so far?
Red Nose Day!
Thank you everyone for your donations for Red Nose Day. The children all looked fabulous in their colourful clothes.
We have written some fabulous stories based on Charlotte's Web in English. In Computing, we have made some fantastic animations. I've been trying to upload them for 45 minutes with no luck. I will try again next week! Well done everyone for your hard work this week. Keep it up!
Super homework!
Wow! There has been an incredible standard of homework this half term. A huge well done to everyone who has handed something in. Here are some pictures of the models that children made. Awesome! New homework grids for Spring 2 have been sent home.
World Book Day!
Wow! A huge thank you to everyone involved in the wonderful outfits that children wore today. They all looked fantastic. We've had a wonderful assembly to celebrate World Book Day. It was lovely hearing some of the children sharing their favourite books. Look out for the book tokens which will be heading your way soon.
A Roman Visitor!
Year 4 were lucky enough to have a very special visitor in school
yesterday - a Roman soldier called Maximus Minimus! He taught us all about life on Hadrian's Wall. The children had great fun asking him questions.
Time to Talk Day.
We learned what the term 'mental health' means. We discussed how we can look after our mental health. Everyone enjoyed playing the emotions game! Children have bought a feelings diary home to complete over the next 7 days.
It's good to talk about our emotions.
Fun with Professor McGinty
Year 4 had the pleasure of watching a hilarious show about the Romans today by Professor McGinty. We learned so many interesting facts and were laughing non-stop for an hour! Thank you Professor McGinty for such an entertaining morning.
A fun week in 4W.
We have learned so much this week in 4W! Here are some pictures of us presenting information about the Romans to the class. Ask your child what facts they can remember. Playing card games has been a great way of practising times tables. Perhaps you could challenge your child to a card battle at home?
Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who bought in a shoebox for our farm settings.
Our new class text is Charlotte's Web. This half term, we will be writing stories based on Charlotte's Web. With the shoeboxes, we had great fun creating farm dioramas, based on the setting in the story.
Wonderful Homework!
Welcome back Year 4! It has been a busy few days and we are all in the swing of our brand new Spring term. I would like to say a special thank you and well done to all of these children who have handed in some incredible homework for Autumn 2. Keep it up! Homework grids for Spring 1 have been sent home today. Please can children return their homework books at the end of every half term (even if they haven't completed any homework!) as we need to stick the new homework grids into them.
Thank you for your support.
Have a lovely weekend, Mrs Weston
Merry Christmas Everyone!
We have had such a lovely last few days celebrating, playing and enjoying one another's company after a very busy term.
We hope you all have a merry Christmas and enjoy a peaceful rest.
See you next year!
Greek pottery
4W have really enjoyed making some Greek pottery this week with Mrs Sheldrick. They look absolutely fantastic. Next week, they will varnish them. Well done, 4W!
Good Work 4W!
Wow! A whopping 13 children from 4W received certificates in our celebration assembly today. That's almost half the class!
Keep it up 4W. You should be so proud of yourselves.
Children in Need
Amazing outfits 4W. Thank you for supporting such a fantastic cause!
Super Science!
4W have been having fun with Mrs Sheldrick learning about electrical appliances in the home. Children had to decide whether the appliances were battery operated or mains operated. How many electrical appliances do you have in your home?
A Fabulous Final Week!
We have had a lovely final week to he half term including an African dance workshop and Greek food tasting. The pitta breads and honey were a firm favourite. The olives weren't so popular!
I hope you enjoy these snaps of what we have been up to. I was quite impressed with 4W's dance moves!
Have a wonderful half term everyone. You all deserve a peaceful rest after all of your hard work these past few weeks.
See you soon,
Mrs Weston x
Homework!
We have had some incredible homework so far. Take a look at these awesome models of the digestive system. Thank you to everyone who has bought homework back so far. Please return any homework by Monday so it can be acknowledged. Children collect stars and win prizes for their homework.
Ukulele Lessons
4W have made an impressive start to their ukulele lessons. What do you think?
There's a Fire-Fiend on the loose!
Year 4 had to be investigators this week when they attended a crime scene on the school grounds. Ask your child about who they think the perpetrator could be!
Another successful week in 4W
A huge well done and thank you to all of the children in 4W for their continued hard work this week. They've done so well especially in English where they have been writing a setting description about a bonfire party. I am so proud of you!
Here are a few examples of our writing.....oh and a picture of some 4W members turned into sunflowers (just for fun ).
Have a lovely weekend everyone x
A fantastic first week!
What a lovely first week back it has been! It has been wonderful being back in school, learning and having fun. Every member of 4W should be proud of how they have settled into our new class. It is not easy having a new classroom, new teacher and new classmates. I think you have all done incredibly well.
Here are a few pictures from our English lesson today. We were thinking of vocabulary to describe a bonfire party, ready for our descriptive writing next week. Of course we had to smell and taste some hot chocolate, candy floss and marshmellow to help us come up with the vocabulary! Watching the flame flicker on a candle and smelling the smoke afterwards also really inspired us!
