Spring 2 - March 2023
It may have been a shorter term but I think it has been our favourite so far! We started the term making models of a House with Chicken Legs so support our writing in English. Our amazing cricket coach, Kelly, came and took our PE lessons, teaching us all lots of new cricket skills. But our most popular lessons have been DT, were we researched, designed and made our very own Mexican tortillas and fillings - enjoy the photos!
Spring Term 1 - Jan/Feb 2023
Another busy tem in 5B - News Reports in English, investigating water resistance in Science and a taste test of Mayan hot chocolate to celebrate the end of our History topic, learning all about the Ancient Maya Civilisation!
Autumn 2 (Dec 2022)
Here are some photos from our very busy second half term in 5B. We completed our DT project where we designed and made bridges. We learned a range of new skills including accurately measuring and sawing wood and how to safely use a glue gun. We finished the term with a Christmas party and an epic game of pass-the-parcel!
What a great start to Year 5! (21.10.22)
Well, it has been a very busy first half term in 5B! We have learned all about Place Value in Maths, written diaries and persuasive letters in English and found out lots of interesting things about the Anglo-Saxons in History. We have just finished our first class text, The Boy At The Back Of The Class which has been a huge success. It was lovely to finish the book yesterday and hear about Ahmet's happy ending and many of us enjoyed trying pomegranate (Ahmet's favourite fruit) for the first time! I am really looking forward to our starting our next book, The Nowhere Emporium, after half term. We have completed our first Science topic, learning about the properties of different materials and below are some photos of the class investigating which material was the best thermal insulator.
Have a lovely half term break
